Frustrated Emley will be hoping for a break in the weather and to finally get back onto a football pitch on Saturday when Prestwich Heys are the visitors to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground (3pm)
In a month which seems to have been constant wind and rains, Emley have only played twice since the end of January, a league win over Steeton and a cup exit at Oswestry, in that time they have seen the other teams catch up to them and have even dropped down a place into 3rd after AFC Liverpool claimed second spot, they have had 4 of their last 5 games cancelled.
At least Emley have the comfort on knowing that they have games in hand, so the top 4 push will still be very much in their hands, when they finally get playing again!
Prestwich have promotion ambitions of their own though, and currently sit 6th, in a cluster of teams who are just outside the top 4 places, but have had better luck with the weather, winning their last 2 games, so they will be a threat to the Pewits no doubt.
The sides played out a 0-0 draw in Manchester in January so the fans of both teams will be hoping for a goal or two, preferably from their own side.
Fingers crossed the rains stay away for a while!
