It's derby day on boxing day as Emley welcome near neighbours Shelley to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground for the first ever league meeting between the two.
That's also depending on the weather, as the last 3 games for Emley have been postponed due to the seemingly never ending rain.
Emley will be confident of the game going ahead on their well maintained pitch and will hopefully be rewarded with another bumper bank holiday crowd.
The only previous meeting between the 2 sides was a Sheffield and Hallamshire cup tie 2 years ago which Emley won 1-0.
As well as local pride, there's also 3 vital league points up for grabs, and both teams will want them for different reasons, Emley to keep up their top 4 push and to try and extend the gap between them and the other hopefuls and Shelley to try and pull away from the dogfight developing at the bottom.
Shelley, with a few ex Emley players in their squad will be hoping to put one over on their neighbours, but Emley will be hoping their decent run of forms carries on.
Kick off at the Welfare Ground is 3.00pm, all welcome, more information below.

WHEN? Thursday 26th December, 3.00pm.
WHERE? Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, off Upper Lane, Emley, Huddersfield, HD8 9RE

WHO? Shelley Football Club was established in 1903 and was originally located on Back Lane, opposite the village hall in Shelley. In the late 1950’s the club relocated to Westerly Lane in Shelley which heralded a period of success including a double in 1960/61 winning both Huddersfield & District Division 3 title and the Groom Cup. This success wasn’t maintained and the club folded in 1972.

In 1980 the club was reformed by Ash Berry, Paul Hirst and Steven Shephard and in 2000 moved to Skelmanthorpe Rec. The club slowly grew and with the support of the Leslie Sports Foundation and the Football Foundation, moved to Storthes Hall in 2011. Since that time the Club has enjoyed several promotions and currently play in the West Yorkshire Premier league. After several years of hard work, the Storthes Hall facility was formally opened by Sarah, Duchess of York in June 2015.
