Emley will be hoping for better weather when they, hopefully, welcome Ashton United to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday (3pm)
With last week's top of the table clash with Lower Breck a victim of storm 'Dennis', Emley again face a crucial, but tricky tie at the top of the NWCFL Division 1 North table again.
Emley, are currently 2nd to Lower Breck and Ashton are 7th, but well within striking distance of the top 4 promotion places, but they have spent plenty of time already in the top 4 so will be keen to get back into the mix. their form has been patchy of late, only winning 2 of their last 6 as they have been pushed out of the promotion places, but teams love nothing better than coming to the Welfare Ground to try and upset Emley.
The Pewits' last league game was a convincing 5-1 win over Steeton 3 weeks ago, they since lost to Oswestry in the PlayerMatch.com cup, but promotion is now their only priority and they can't afford any more slip ups, with the likes of AFC Liverpool, Shelley and AFC Blackpool breathing down their necks, Saturday's game could prove crucial if Emley are to maintain their good league form and keep hold of second spot.
The teams played out an entertaining 2-2 draw back in August in weather that wasn't far off what we've experienced lately, a fierce wind and lashing rain over in Lancashire but it was credit to both teams for such an enthralling game, hopefully it will be just as entertaining this weekend but with 3 points for the Pewits tucked away.

WHO? Ashton Town, based in Ashton-in-Makerfield, near Wigan, were formed in 1962 and were founder members of the NWCFL in 1982, they dropped into the Manchester league in 1985 but bounced straight back up and in 2016/17, were relegated into the Cheshire league, but again, bounced straight back up.
