Emley and their travelling supporters make the long trip to deepest Cumbria on Saturday when they take on Cleator Moor Celtic with 3 important league points up for grabs in the North West Counties Division 1 North.
After a week off due to cup commitments, the Pewits are back in league action, looking to keep up their top 4 promotion aspirations against their Cumbrian opponents, the sides fought out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Emley back in September.
Emley are currently 3rd in the table, which has a strange look about it as some teams have played 3 games more than others, but it should soon begin to even itself out and Emley hope to be still in the mix come the new year.
Cleator Moor, like Emley are experiencing the NWCFL for the first time having moved across from the Northern Leagues, will also be hoping to pick up points to try and make ground, they are currently 16th in the table.
Emley Manager Richard Tracey knows the Pewits will have to be at their best on Saturday Tracey said " we are looking forward to league action on Saturday and looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce, Obviously it's a challenge with the travel, but Cleator Moor shared the spoils at our place a few weeks back so there's no excuse, we know they are a good side and we will have to be at our best to ensure we return home (Sunday morning?!!) with the 3 points".
Emley are running a coach to the game for supporters, and there are spaces still available for anyone who fancies a trip to the edge of the Lake District? seats are £15 adults and £5 children, the coach leaves the Welfare Ground at 9am, and is expected to return back to Emley around 10pm, details and to book are here https://shop.emleyafc.co.uk/product/coach-travel-to-cleator-moor/
