Emley head back over the Pennines for their 4th consecutive trip West, and their 4th in 5 games, (although one of those at Bacup was postponed) when they travel up the A6 to Garstang in the first of two important league games over the bank holiday weekend.
After a 4-2 win at Daisy Hill and a 2-2 draw at Ashton Town in midweek, which made it 3 games unbeaten for the Pewits, they should travel with a fair degree of confidence against a Garstang team who have struggled so far with only 1 win from 5 games, they are currently second bottom and disposed of the services of former Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Burnley, Hull City and Celtic player Andy Payton as manager, Payton was only appointed in May of this year, so the Garstang board were quick to pull the trigger.
Emley will be hoping to avoid a backlash as they look to continue their good form on grass- their only defeat coming on Lower Breck's 3G pitch in Liverpool, after scoring 6 goals in their last 2 games in very different waether conditions, Emley will be more than hopeful of adding to Garstang's woes for another week.
Let's hope for another good showing of Emley supporters who have so far travelled in numbers to every game so far!
