Business start-up Wentworth Equestrian have invested in their local football club as the new away shirt sponsor of Emley AFC.

Hopefully with the support of Wentworth Equestrian we’ll soon be back on the footballing map.

Initially based online only, Wentworth Equestrian sell everything and anything needed by equine enthusiasts - clothing, grooming, tack - and accessories for dogs too. The company say they buy direct from manufacturers to cut out the middle-man and keep prices down.

The company is run by Emley born and bred businessman Richard Oates and wife Lynn.

Richard has a long history with the club having been a mascot in the mid 1980s and helping his father, then club treasurer, stapling the match day programme together. His Aunt even played for the Emley women's team.

Richard Oates said: “I’m delighted to get involved a club with which I have a deep affinity. Hopefully with the support of Wentworth Equestrian we’ll soon be back on the footballing map. In turn, the exposure will be great for the new business.”

Emley AFC Chairman, Nigel Wakefield said: “We welcome Richard and Lynn to the club and their backing is a huge boost. We’re obviously always delighted to attract new sponsors but getting strong backing from a local business is particularly pleasing - I’d encourage more Emley residents to support us in any way they can.”

As well as the away kit, the Wentworth Equestrian brand is also visible to home fans with a prime advertising spot across the length of the main stand.

You can find out more about Wentworth Equestrian on their website or visit them at upcoming shows at Weeton (28th July), Emley (3rd August) and Penistone (14th September)

To order the new away shirt for just £20 for junior sizes, £30 for adults head to the club shop
