Emley AFC is looking to appoint a volunteer Community Officer to champion the club and help build and strengthen links with local grassroots clubs and other groups in the HD8 and surrounding areas.
This is not an ‘entry level’ opportunity, we’re looking for someone with experience in a relevant field to take ownership of this aspect of the club and really shape this new role.
Key responsibilities:
To build positive relationships with new and existing partnerships with grassroots football clubs.
Organise events that bring young people and their families to the club and/or increase awareness of the club - this will include regular ‘play on the pitch’ pre-match sessions, holiday camps/soccer schools, an annual junior tournament, opportunities for involvement of the club at local schools
Engage with other groups to utilise facilities at the football club and/or attend matches - such as local schools, other clubs and societies.
Support the recruitment of new volunteers.
Skills and experience:
The right person must have good organisational skills and be a great communicator. They will also have experience in at least two of the following areas:
Experience at, or a good understanding of, grassroots football clubs and football coaching (but not necessarily a coach themselves)
Ability to build a network, make connections and identify opportunities
Experience in planning and running football or other types of events
