Tracey said: “I am delighted with a hard fought point from a good Ashton Town side in difficult conditions.”
“To come back from behind twice shows the character in the dressing room and that bodes well as we move forward.”
“Everyone of the 13 players made a positive contribution towards positive results but it would have been fantastic to seal victory with the late chance we had, however, I think a point was a fair result.”
Speaking about the opening four games, Tracey is happy with what he has seen so far: “We have to be pleased with the start we’ve made. Seven points on the board with a new squad who are learning and developing all the time is positive. However the performance at Ashton was a big step forward and that was the most pleasing.”
“The commitment and work ethic from the lads has been terrific and has started to create a real positive environment in the dressing room. We must now build on this as we move through the season.”
Emley’s next fixture is away at manager-less Garstang in the league on Saturday at 3pm before a Bank Holiday Monday derby with Golcar United - the visitors including a contingent of ex-Emley players.
