Emley AFC’s eagerly anticipated 2025/26 Northern Premier League Division One East fixture list has been released and supporters can now begin planning their journeys and circling the biggest dates on the calendar. With a strong set of home ties at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, and some long away treks on the horizon, this campaign promises excitement from August to April.
The Pewits begin the season with a Yorkshire derby at home to Silsden on Saturday 9 August, before travelling to Bradford (Park Avenue) just three days later a short round trip of 40 miles. Home matches against Lincoln United (19 August) and Garforth Town (25 August) provide opportunities to get points on the board early.
Our first long distance challenge comes on 30 August with an away day to North Ferriby, approximately 110 miles from Emley, signalling the first of several cross county excursions.
This season sees Emley embark on some of the longest journeys in the league:
Blyth Town (20 September) and Blyth Spartans (18 October) both require a 215 mile trek north to the Northumberland coast.
Dunston UTS (15 November) and Newton Aycliffe (22 November) also represent 200+ mile round trips.
Another distance test comes with a journey to Consett on 24 January, another club based in County Durham (~200 miles).
Despite the mileage, these matches offer a chance for Emley’s travelling fans to showcase their outstanding support across the north.
October could prove pivotal for Emley’s season. The team hosts Ashington, Matlock Town, and Bishop Auckland all within two weeks, a trio of competitive fixtures at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, where home form will be crucial to their league ambitions.
The Christmas and New Year period brings exciting matches that fans won’t want to miss:
Saturday 13 December – Home vs Blyth Town
Saturday 20 December – Home vs Bradford (Park Avenue)
Friday 26 December (Boxing Day) – Away at Garforth Town
Thursday 1 January (New Year’s Day) – Away at Ossett United (just 9 miles away), offering a great New Year derby atmosphere
This cluster of fixtures is ideal for building momentum heading into 2026, especially with local rivalries intensifying the drama.
As the league heads towards its climax in April, Emley are gifted a favourable run with four of their final six matches at home. Notable among these is a final day clash against Newton Aycliffe on Saturday 25 April, which could prove vital in the playoff or promotion race.
Other key fixtures include:
Redcar Athletic (A) on 4 April (~140 miles)
Ossett United (A) on Easter Monday (6 April)
North Ferriby (H) on 11 April
Emley AFC’s fixture list throws up a mixture of long hauls and local rivalries, all of which will test the resolve and depth of Richard Tracey’s side. The fans can look forward to an intense festive run, some exciting away days, and a home stretch that could define their season.
Pewits faithful, start marking your calendars the journey begins on 9 August.
