Grand National day in Donny for Emley

AFC Emley are back in South Yorkshire on Saturday when they travel to Rossington Main in the Northern Counties East League Division 1 (3pm).
The Pewits, who lost at Swallownest 2 weeks ago will be hoping to make it a more fruitful visit to the South of the county this time, although a 2-1 win over East Yorkshire Carnegie slightly eased relegation fears for Emley, there's still some nail biting going on in Rossington, as they currently sit just 2 places and 2 points above the relegation spots and in a bad run of form, since beating Emley at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground in January, when they were 9th, The Main have only picked up 2 points out of a possible 21, so they will be desperate for the points as much as Emley will.
Emley haven't tasted victory on the road since a 2-0 win at Ollerton Town back in January, although they probably still feel they deserved something out of the games at Selby, Nostell and Swallownest where they lost by a nose.
Consistency is the thing lacking the most for Emley, LWLW is their recent record, and with a bit more consistency you feel they could put a run together to build up some confidence for their remaining 5 games and for next season.
Marlon Adams and Daz Hepworth won't be taking Rossington lightly though, as most teams prove in this league week in week out, anyone can beat anyone and with only 5 games remaining and a cluster of teams still around the bottom anything could still happen, Emley will be hoping another 3 points on Grand National Saturday will see them clear the last hurdle and avoid the fall!
