Emley welcome West Didsbury & Chorlton to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground for an FA Vase 3rd round tie (3pm) in a tie that was originally planned for last Saturday but was unable to beat the freeze!
It will be a first meeting between 2 of the competitions highest ranked and best supported clubs, Emley currently 2nd in the NCEL Premier Division and West 7th in the NWC Premier Division both sides play at step 5 in the non league pyramid.
Emley are in a great run of form, the last game, saw a hard fought 2-1 win over Thackley to make it 16 games unbeaten, a run that has seen them close the gap on leaders Campion to 4 points but with 4 games in hand.
West's last league win was a 2-0 win at Kendal Town at the end of November, they drew their last game 1-1 with Pilkington on Tuesday, they defeated Emley's NCEL rivals Albion Sports in the previous round of the Vase.
West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC, based in Manchester, were formed in 1908 as Christ Church AFC, changing to West Didsbury in 1920, and changed name again in 2003 to add Chorlton after moving to the Chorlton area in 1997/98, they played in the Cheshire and Manchester leagues before making the step up to semi-pro in 2012/13 and joining the NWCFL D1 and were promoted to the Premier Division as champions in 2022, they were quarter finalists in the Vase last season losing out to eventual winners Ascot United.
