Emley head to Cheshire for a clash with Warrington Town in the Northern Premier League- Premier Division as we look to maintain our unbeaten away record on Saturday (3pm).

It will be one of two scheduled visits to Warrington, Rylands is scheduled for October but Town are first up.

It will be be only the 5th meeting between the sides, the first for over 35 years and our 3rd ever visit to Cantilever Park, it's a fixture that Emley have never lost, 3 wins and a draw in our previous 4 games and a record we hope to keep up at the weekend.

A second 0-0 away draw at highly fancied Redcar Athletic on Tuesday saw Emley remain unbeaten away, it's early days yet but it's a good start to the season for the newly promoted Pewits who sit 10th going into the game.

Warrington had a good start to the season winning 4 of their first 5, but that run was abruptly halted by a 4-0 home thumping by Curzon Ashton on Tuesday, but they sit 4th on the early league table with 13 points from their 6 games.

This will be the first ever meeting at this level, the previous games were in the FA Vase and NPL Division 1.

WHO ARE THEY?
Warrington Town were formed in 1949 as Stockton Heath Albion and played in the Mid-Cheshire league, they changed their name in 1961 and joined the Cheshire County league as founder members of Div 2 in 1978, 4 years later and they became a founder member of the NWCFL and enjoyed a meteoric rise in the late 80's, 4 promotions took them to the NPL in 1990.

They stayed in the NPL for 6 years before relegation back to the NWCL before returning to the NPL in 2004 where they stayed for 19 seasons before promotion to National League North in 2023, however they finished 13th and 23rd before relegation back to the NPL in 2024-25.

They were FA Vase finalists in 1987, losing to near neighbours St Helens Town at Wembley, they were semi finalists the year before, they reached the quarter final of the FA Trophy in 1992-93, losing out to Sutton Utd and they enjoyed their best FA Cup run in 2014-15, beating Exeter City on their way to the 2nd round proper where they lost to Gateshead.

They are nicknamed The Wire or The Yellows and play at Cantilever Park to the South East of the town.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?
From the north, leave the M6 at J22 and follow the Winwick Link Road to join the A49. Follow the A49 all through the town centre, and eventually take the A5061 Knutsford Road to the left. Then about a mile down the road, take the right turn at Razors Barber Shop and then head straight to Wash Lane.

From the east/west, leave the M62 at J9. Follow the A49 all through the town centre, and eventually take the A5061 Knutsford Road to the left. Then about a mile down the road, take the right turn at Razors Barber Shop and then head straight to Wash Lane.

From the south, leave the M6 at J20 Lymm Interchange and follow the signs for A50 Warrington. At the roundabout, take the second exit on to Cliff Lane/A50 and follow the A50 through Grappenhall and over the swing bridge, then take a left on to Station Road and follow up towards the ground on your left.

PARKING
Unfortunately, due to limited space, there is no parking available at the ground.

They do have limited numbers of disabled spaces for games, please email info@warringtontownfc.co.uk in advance to check availability.

Further up Loushers Lane there is a car park that is a one mile walk from the ground. There are also car parks in Latchford village, a short walk from the ground.

There is plenty of street parking in the local area, but please be respectful to local residents and do not block driveways or pathways.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
Warrington Central is 2.2 miles from the ground. It is situated opposite Warrington Bus Interchange, where there are options to reach the ground.

Warrington Bank Quay which is on the west coast mainline, is 1.7 miles from the ground. There is no bus from here to the ground. You would need to walk to Warrington Bus Interchange to get a bus. However, it is a fairly straight forward walk, all along Wilson Patten Street, across Bridgefoot on to Knutsford Road and then turn right on to Wash Lane, and walk up to the ground.
