Fourth and final successive West Yorkshire derby due next.

Emley head to Silsden on Saturday, hoping to maintain second place in the Northern Premier League Division One East in another West Yorkshire derby (3pm).

It's a fourth successive WY derby for Emley, following wins over Bradford (Park Avenue) and Ossett United and a defeat at Garforth Town, it's only just a West Yorkshire derby though as Silsden is right on the border with North Yorkshire, the county boundary runs a few metres at the back of Silsden's scenic ground.

Emley have a good record at Silsden, we are unbeaten in 3 visits so far, scoring 8 and conceding only twice in our visits so far, this will be the 7th meeting in all and Emley have won 3, Silsden winning 2 with 1 draw.

Silsden were our opening day opponents this season as we posted a comfortable 3-0 win over our opponents who had followed Emley in winning promotion as NCEL champions, The Cobbydalers struggled at first but then steady progress saw them move up to mid table but a bad run of form, they are without a win in 10 matches in all going back to 1st November, has seen them slip back into relegation contention.

No such issues for Emley though, 8 wins from our last 10 has seen us take and consolidate 2nd place on the table, although we have played more games than the rest of our promotion rivals, both teams will be wanting three points for very differing reasons on Saturday, hopefully the weather will be kind to us too.

WHO ARE THEY?
Silsden AFC were formed in 1883, by an Irish GP, Dr. John Purcell, but it was officially established as an FA affiliated club in September 1904 and played in local and county leagues until promotion to the NWCFL in 2004-05, winning promotion to D1 in their first attempt before being transferred laterally to the NCEL in 2019.

Three mid table finishes followed the resumption after the pandemic years before Silsden won promotion to the NPL for the first time ever last season. They are nicknamed The Cobbydalers and play at Keighley Road just outside the town of Silsden and are one of only 3 teams to win the West Riding County Cup three times in succession!
