Emley travel to Sherwood Colliery for only the second time in our history on Saturday as we look to maintain our good away record in the Northern Premier League Divisione One East (3pm).

A 1-0 defeat at leaders Cleethorpes Town is our only defeat in 12 matches on the road this season, 8 of those have been wins, but even more impressive, we have only conceded 3 goals away from home, 2 of those were in that 2-0 defeat at Cleethorpes and the only other side to score against us away are Newton Aycliffe and that was back in August!

Emley's only other visit to Debdale Park was an entertaining 3-2 win in September 2021 in the NCEL Premier Division, Sherwood won the return leg 1-0 at Emley in January 2022, this season, Emley saw off The Wood with a late Luke Parkin penalty at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground in October, another league double is on the cards.

Sherwood Colliery, nicknamed The Wood, are based in Mansfield Woodhouse and were formed in 2008 and played in the Central Midlands League before joining the the East Midlands League in 2018/19, they then spent a season in the NCEL before moving laterally to the United Counties League and subsequently promotion to NPL D1 East after finishing as UCL champions last season.

Emley are currently 3rd in the NPL D1 East, Sherwood are struggling a bit in 18th, Emley's trip to North Ferriby on Tuesday was postponed due to the weather so it means we are now 5 unbeaten in all competitions, that Cleethorpes defeat back in December was our only loss in 10 games.

Sherwood have 1 win in their last 5 in all competitions but are unbeaten in their last 3 home, league games, their last defeat in the league at Debdale was a 4-0 thrashing by Ossett in early December.

This will be the 4th meeting with 2 Emley wins and one for The Wood.

M1 to J29, follow A617 towards Mansfield, through Glapwell and Pleasley, follow A6191 to Mansfield, turn left at the crossroads ( Esso on the right), and follow Mansfield Woodhouse (A6075), after approximately 1 mile, turn left into The Sidings then left into Mallard Court, ground is top of the lane behind the cricket ground.
