Preview: Rossington Main (H)

Martin Eastwood1 Apr - 16:30

Rossington are the visitors are champions are welcomed home.

Newly crowned NCEL Premier Division champions Emley welcome Rossington Main to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground for our penultimate home game on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Saturday's thumping 5-0 win at Goole ended the title race in Emley's favour and Emley will now return home looking to keep up the momentum and finish the season on a high with 2 home games and an away game at Pickering next Tuesday left to play before we concentrate on the league cup and a potential league and cup double.

Rossington won't be in any mood to let Emley party though, they will be looking for a win to cement their place in the promotion play offs and to finish as high as they can following their own promotion from NCEL D1 last season via the play offs.

Rosso, thrashed Emley's title rivals Campion at the weekend, although the result meant little in terms of the title being decided in the end, it shows what Main are capable of, currently they are 4th in the table and unbeaten in 5, Emley's win on Saturday made it 3 straight wins, 3 clean sheets and 11 goals scored since we gave Campion a little glimmer of hope of snatching the title away with the 1-0 defeat in Bradford now just a memory away.

It will be a party atmosphere for the next 2 home games but Emley know they still have a job to do for the next few weeks but the points don't matter too much now.

Emley were backed by a tremendous travelling support in Goole, a crowd swelled with over 300 Emley supporters and it's hoped that 2 more big crowds will turn out to welcome the champions on Tuesday and Saturday when local rivals Golcar are the visitors for our trophy presentation game.

Emley will be looking for another league double as they won 3-0 at Rossington back in October.
