A trip to South Yorkshire next in what Emley hope will be the penultimate game of the season!

Emley head to Doncaster to face Rossington Main in the semi final of the NCEL League cup on Tuesday (7.45pm) looking to keep the league and cup double on track.

Emley won the NCEL Premier League title by 9 points from 2nd placed Campion and now look to add the league cup to the honours as they bid farewell to the NCEL after 18 seasons as promotion was secured to the Northern Premier League for next season.

The Pewits have never won a double but came close in 1989, when, under legendary manager Gerry Quinn they won the league but lost the cup final to Bridlington Town, and this Emley side under Richard Tracey will want to cement their status as Emley heroes and legends.

But first, they have to see off a very good Rossington side who are looking for back-to-back promotions after coming up from NCEL D1 last season to play in their first ever season at this level (step 5 of the national league system), they have endured a very successful season finishing 4th and will face Garforth Town in the play offs next week.

The sides met recently with Rossington actually securing their play off place after a 1-0 win at Emley, the game was the first game after the 5-0 win at Goole that secured the title for Emley, Rossington have the better form, unbeaten in their last 8 in all competitions and only 1 defeat in 10.

Emley finished the season with only 5 league defeats, 3 of those came in the last 8 games of the season, as well as Rossington, Emley were also beaten by Silsden and away at Campion but thankfully didn't change the course of the title.

In the league cup so far this season, Rosso have seen off Retford, Pickering and Handsworth while Emley have accounted for Garforth, Louth and Bottesford, this is the story of both clubs' league cup campaigns so far.
