Emley head up the A1 again on Friday night when we make the trip to Newcastle-upon-Tyne to face Heaton Stannington away in the first qualifying round of the Isuzu FA Trophy (7.45pm).

It will be only the fourth time the sides have met, and all the clashes have come in the previous 2 seasons, the fifth will follow in November as Emley visit "The Stan" again in the league. Emley will be hoping to maintain an unbeaten record against their opponents, two wins and a draw and 3 clean sheets ,both wins finishing 1-0 to Emley.

In the league last season, Emley won 1-0 at Grounsell Park thanks to Mo Qasim's one and only goal for Emley, there was a 0-0 draw at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground and Alex Metcalfe's goal in November 2023 saw off The Stan as Emley headed into the quarter finals of the FA Vase.

More recently, Emley remain unbeaten in the NPL Division One East, following last weekend's goalless draw at North Ferriby, Heaton Stannington sit 16th after 5 games, both clubs had a maiden season at step 4 last season, with Emley finishing 5th and in the play offs, our hosts on Friday finished a very creditable 12th, but Friday is about knockout football and a step forward in the next 'road to Wembley'.

WHO ARE THEY:
Heaton Stannington FC were formed in 1910 and played in various leagues before joining the Northern League in 1939-40, after the war, they left the NL and played in various local leagues before rejoining the Northern League in 2013-14 after winning the Northern Alliance, After winning promotion from NL 2 in 2021-22 they finished 8th and 3rd before promotion to the NPL in 2024-25, they play at the Willow Park in the High Heaton area of Newcastle.
