Emley make another long journey to the North East on Saturday, this time to Newcastle to face Heaton Stannington in the Northern Premier League Division One East (3pm).

It's Emley second visit to The Willow Park in as many months following our 2-0 defeat there in the FA Trophy in September and will be just the fifth meeting of the sides with the last 3 all coming in the calendar year of 2025.

With 2 wins to Emley, a win for Heaton and a draw, the sides are pretty evenly matched in that respect, Emley won the first ever meeting, an FA Vase clash in 2023 and also won in Newcastle last November before a goalless draw back at Emley in February.

Emley currently sit fifth in the division, in the play off positions but we have failed to score in our last two league games and have only managed to find the net 18 times in our 15 league games so far, to even that up, our defence is the joint second meanest in the division with only 11 conceded.

Our hosts on the other hand are one of a host of teams looking to push Emley out of the play offs and make their own push, like Emley, they have struggled to turn draws into wins, with both teams drawing 6 of their league games so far.

WHO ARE THEY?
Heaton Stannington FC were formed in 1910 and played in various leagues before joining the Northern League in 1939-40, after the war, they left the NL and played in various local leagues before rejoining the Northern League in 2013-14 after winning the Northern Alliance, After winning promotion from NL 2 in 2021-22 they finished 8th and 3rd before promotion to the NPL in 2024-25, they play at the Willow Park in the High Heaton area of Newcastle.
