Emley will welcome Hallam to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday for a Yorkshire derby as West meets South in the Northern Premier League Division One East (3pm).
Hopefully the winter weather will be a bit kinder as both sides have been inactive over the last 2 weeks due to the snow, ice, frost and storms, Emley's last outing was a 3-1 win home win in the New Year's Day derby clash with Ossett Utd, Hallam's impressive 3-1 win at Dunston on Tuesday night was their first match since a 2-2 draw with Lincoln Utd at the turn of the year.
Emley's win kept them 2nd in the league, pursuing leaders Redcar Athletic and trying to hold off challengers for a promotion or play off spot, Hallam , promoted last season and playing at this level for the first time will be looking to push on from their mid table position as they look to consolidate at step 4.
It won't be straight forward though for Richard Tracey's men, the sides have been regular opponents in the NCEL over the years and Hallam are unbeaten against Emley in the last 4 encounters and have won 5 of the last 6 clashes at the Welfare Ground!
Emley will look to improve on that dismal record and continue the good home form which has seen us win our last 5 at home and only conceded once whilst racking up 12 to our name. Hallam have only lost twice in 9 league away games so anything could happen!
The teams played out a goalless draw at Sandygate back in October
WHO ARE THEY?
Hallam FC were formed in 1860 and are generally known as the second oldest club in the world after Sheffield FC, the two clubs contest the "rules derby" and Hallam hold the distinction of winning the first ever football competition, the Youdan cup.
Like Emley, Hallam were members of the old Yorkshire league before it joined with the old Midland league to form the NCEL in 1982, Emley and Hallam were both founder members, until promotion last year, Hallam had played every season in one division or another of the NCEL.
They play at the famous Sandygate ground, which is recognised as the oldest football ground in the world, and are based in the Crosspool suburb of Sheffield.
