The two clubs are very much familiar with each other having been regular opponents over the years and are reunited following Hallam's promotion from the NCEL last year, The Countrymen have found life tough at this level already, although they did beat fellow promotees, bottom placed Silsden in midweek, their first win in eight games.

It's a game that pits South v West in another Yorkshire derby for Emley, who progressed into the second round of the county cup on Tuesday with a win at Harworth Colliery, however, the inactivity in the league has seen us drop 2 places to fourth, with Hallam sitting 15th after their win.

The last 5 meetings are equal with two wins each and a draw, although Emley haven't beaten Hallam in 3 games, Ruben Jerome is the only Emley player to have scored against Hallam in the previous 3 games between us!

WHO ARE THEY?
Hallam FC were formed in 1860 and are generally known as the second oldest club in the world after Sheffield FC, the two clubs contest the "rules derby" and Hallam hold the distinction of winning the first ever football competition, the Youdan cup.

Like Emley, Hallam were members of the old Yorkshire league before it joined with the old Midland league to form the NCEL in 1982, Emley and Hallam were both founder members, until promotion last year, Hallam had played every season in one division or another of the NCEL.

They play at the famous Sandygate ground, which is recognised as the oldest football ground in the world, and are based in the Crosspool suburb of Sheffield.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?
From Huddersfield area, A616 to Midhopestones crossroads, turn right, s/p Bradfield/Midhopestones and follow Mortimer Road for approx. 9 miles then turn left onto A57 s/p Sheffield/Rivelin, after 4.5 miles, turn right into Lodge Lane, at crossroads, turn left onto Redmire Lane and then Sandygate Road, ground is on the right.

There's another route past Sheffield Wednesday, but they are playing at home at 12.30 and so road closures and disruption likely around Hillsborough area.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Nearest train station- Sheffield (4 miles) Bus no.51 from Arundel Gate (0.3 miles) drops off on Sandygate Road near the ground.
