Can we pick up points at the Rebels?

Emley make a first ever visit to Broadhurst Park for a first ever meeting with FC United of Manchester as both teams look for vital points at the foot of the NPL Premier Division on Tuesday night (7.45pm)

Emley's run of poor results has seen the Pewits slip into the bottom 4 relegation places where they find Tuesday's hosts stuck at the bottom with only one win to their name so far, Emley's barren run of league form continued on Saturday when they were beaten by Gainsborough, despite playing well but not being clinical enough, something of a recurring theme in many of the recent games.

It's now 8 league games without a win and 4 consecutive defeats in all competitions following our 6-0 win over Brodsworth in the County Cup, our last league point came away at Warrington Town at the end of August and our last league win at Leek 11 days previously.

FCUM meanwhile were expected to be challenging at the top again, they made the play offs last year but fell at the semi final stage, their only win in the league to date was a 4-1 thumping of the above mentioned Warrington Town last month, but they have made progress in the FA Cup, seeing off Garforth, Ossett and Worksop Town and face Altrincham in the 4th qualifying round, their FA Trophy hopes disappeared with a 2-0 defeat at Hyde Utd.

United looked to be on the way to a second win by conceded a last minute equaliser at Stockton, Emley's next opponents in a big week for the Pewits.

With the teams around them picking up points, it's becoming vital that both sides also start to pick up points, what better way for Emley to end their run in front of a big, passionate crowd in Moston?

WHO ARE THEY?
Founded in 2005 by Manchester United supporters opposed to American businessman Malcolm Glazer's takeover, F.C. United entered Division Two of the North West Counties Football League, earned three consecutive promotions and were promoted for a fourth time to National League North for the 2015–16 season, after 4 seasons at step 2, they levelled out and were relegated back to NPL Premier in 2019, where they remain now.

In only their 5th season of existence, they made it to the FA Cup 2nd round proper but were beaten by Brighton after a replay, they have made the 1st round proper on 2 other occasions losing to Chesterfield and Doncaster Rovers respectively, they made it to the FA Trophy quarter finals in 2015 but were beaten away at Torquay.

From 2005-2014 they shared Bury's Gigg Lane stadium until Broadhurst Park was opened in the Moston area of Manchester in May 2015 and has a capacity of 4,900, it is the UK's first new ground to be built by a supporter-owned football club FC United are the second biggest supporter-owned club in the country after Exeter City.
