Emley and Dunston are set to face each other for the fourth time, but the first ever league meeting between the sides will be in the Northern Premier League Division 1 East on Saturday at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground. (3pm).

The sides have met previously in the FA Vase on two occasions and then Dunston visited Emley only last month for an FA Trophy tie, which the Pewits won 2-0.

Emley are still leading the table, a remarkable achievement considering they hadn't played at this level for a generation, Dunston are just outside the play off places and will be looking to maintain their chase of the top 5.

Form wise, Emley's 0-0 draw at Bradford on Tuesday made it 5 unbeaten, but probably as pleasing, 5 consecutive clean sheets, Dunston have had a mixed bag of results but earned a 3-2 North East derby win over Heaton Stannington midweek to end a run of 3 without a win.

Dunston UTS, founded in 1975 as Whickham Sports and previously known as Dunston Federation Brewery due to sponsorships, won promotion to the NPL after winning the Northern League in 2019 having previously competed in the Northern Amateur, Northern Combination and Wearside leagues.

Like many former Northern League clubs they were FA Vase winners in 2011-12 defeating yet another Northern League side, West Auckland Town in the final at Wembley, they also reached the FA Cup 4th qualifying round on 2 occasions, 2004 and 2019 and also the 3rd qualifying round of the trophy on 2 occasions and are nicknamed "The Fed".
