Martin Eastwood1 Dec - 16:00

Emley make long midweek trip North.

Emley head North once again this week with another trip to Gateshead to face Dunston in the Northern Premier League Division One East on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Remarkably, this is our third visit to the UTS stadium in nine months having only ever previously visited once, that was 15 years ago, this will be our second midweek game there following the play off semi final last season.

Emley are currently 3rd in the NPL D1 East table following a fourth straight win on Saturday whilst Dunston are 6th, one place outside the play off places following their abandoned game with Hallam on Saturday.

Emley will be looking to improve on a terrible record at Dunston, all previous visits have been defeats with Emley conceding 8 and failing to score on each occasion, The Pewits are currently unbeaten away from home as they look to maintain that good record.

WHO ARE THEY?
Dunston UTS, founded in 1975 as Whickham Sports and previously known as Dunston Federation Brewery due to sponsorships, won promotion to the NPL after winning the Northern League in 2019 having previously competed in the Northern Amateur, Northern Combination and Wearside leagues.

Like many former Northern League clubs they were FA Vase winners in 2011-12 defeating yet another Northern League side, West Auckland Town in the final at Wembley, they also reached the FA Cup 4th qualifying round on 2 occasions, 2004 and 2019 and also the 3rd qualifying round of the trophy on 2 occasions and are nicknamed "The Fed".
