Emley welcome Cleethorpes Town to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Tuesday (7.45pm) for a top of the table clash in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

Emley remain top of the table courtesy of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Dunston, while Cleethorpes cut the gap to 1 point with a 3-0 away win at Sherwood Colliery.

It will be the 6th meeting between the sides, going back to 2012 when Cleethorpes were in the middle of their rise from a soccer school to a well established NPL side, with Cleethorpes winning 3 of those clashes, 1 solitary win for Emley and a draw.

Cleethorpes Town, nicknamed The Owls, were formed in 1998 as 'Lincolnshire soccer school' becoming Cleethorpes Town in 2008 played in the local Lincs and Humber leagues before joining the NCEL as Lincs league champions, their first and only such title, upon promotion to the NCEL D1 in 2012, they first encountered Emley and finished a creditable fourth and promotion was won the next season as Clee won the NCEL D1.

The Owls would last only 3 more seasons in the NCEL as they won promotion to the NPL after storming the NCEL Premier and became settled in the NPL First Division, missing out on promotion to the Premier Division in the play offs in 2021-22, they play at The Linden club.
