Charnock Richard are the visitors to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday as Emley look to reach the FA Vase 5th round for the first time since 1990 (3pm KO).

Following wins over Sandbach, Brigg, Heaton Stannington, Guisborough and West Didsbury & Chorlton, Emley will be confident of going one step further on the road to Wembley than they did the last time they were at this stage, that was in 2013 when we suffered a 1-0 defeat to Suffolk based Hadleigh United.

Our visitors, who play in the North West Counties Premier League, the same level as Emley, are enjoying their best ever run in the competition and have seen off Staveley MW, Chadderton, Burscough, Eccleshill Utd and Carlisle City in their quest for a 5th round spot.

Charnock Richard FC, based in Chorley, Lancashire were first formed in 1933 and reformed in 1955, they joined the NWCFL in 2016 after 4 successive West Lancashire League titles and were promoted to the Premier Division in their first season and have remained their since, mid table in their division with a mixed bag of form, winning, drawing and losing their last 3 games, although they have knocked Bury out of both the FA Cup and League cups!

Emley's draw at Knaresborough last Saturday kept us 2nd in the NCEL Premier Division, 4 points behind Campion but with 3 games in hand, which should be 4 after the weekend with Campion hosting Golcar.

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs, although there is a familiar face in the Charnock Richard line-up with former Pewit Marcus Haydock amongst their ranks.
