Final game of the season for the Pewits.

Emley round off their first ever season in the NCEL Premier Division when they travel to Lincolnshire to face Bottesford Town on Wednesday (7.45pm)

In a rearranged game from March, the game has little riding on it, but Emley will look to finish the season on a high, and with another league double.

Emley ran out comfortable 6-1 winners in the home game in October, which was one of the better performances of the early season, before Emley hit their straps and found themselves eventually in the top half of the table.

Emley are currently 10th after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with champions Grimsby Borough and can finish as high as 9th depending on Staveley’s result against Handsworth, Bottesford are 14th and can finish as high as 13th with a win.

Bottesford’s form isn’t great, 4 consecutive defeats with no goals scored and 15 conceded, although one of those games was a league cup tie v Penistone who were later removed giving Bottesford a reprieve, should give Emley hope, Emley have lost only 2 out of the last 12 games.

The teams have met a few times previously, perhaps the most famous of those being the 2016 NCEL D1 play off final at Bottesford's Birch Park where Emley were heartbroken by a last-minute penalty and then a shootout defeat after extra time.
