Emley may have wrapped up the NCEL Premier Division title and completed their league season but attention now turns to the league cup on Saturday, when Bottesford Town are the visitors to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground for a quarter final tie (3pm).

With Emley currently 12 points clear as champions, it's an opportunity for a league and cup double as Emley bid farewell to the Northern Counties East League after 18 years.

Bottesford are in the same league and are currently 16th, although they too have completed their matches, others around them still have games in hand.

Emley have already completed a league double over 'The Poachers' this season, but both were very different games, an added time winner from Iyrwah Gooden saw Emley nick the spoils in North Lincs whilst Emley recorded a crushing 9-2 win on home soil with James Walshaw bagging 6 of those!.

Emley saw off Pickering Town 5-2 on Tuesday to round off the season, while Bottesford have lost their last 4 games, the last 2 games to end their campaign ended with 4-2 defeats.

Emley will look to add to their 154 goals scored so far this season, but Bottesford will be keen to avoid another big defeat and post their first win in 5.

Bottesford have never reached the NCEL league cup final and Emley have only reached the final of this competition once, in 1989 when they lost out to Bridlington Town, they also won the league that season but missed out on a league and cup double, so this Emley side will be looking to make history, but they'll have to be at their best to see off a more than capable Bottesford side.
