Emley take a break for league action this midweek when we host Barnsley's U21 side in the quarter final of the Sheffield and Hallamshire cup on Wednesday evening (7.45pm).
It's an unknown quantity as it's the first time that a professional clubs' development team have been entered into the county cup, but one that Emley are looking forward to.
Emley are currently third in the Northern Premier League Division One East following last year's promotion and Barnsley sit 8th in the Professional Development league 2 although they are without a win since October, they have drawn 6 of their last 8 games though, their last two games have ended in 2-2 draws.
It's a competition that Emley won 2 years ago, beating Maltby in the final at Doncaster, but it was at this stage last season where an out of sorts Pewits side relinquished their crown with a heavy defeat at eventual winners Worksop Town.
Worksop are still in this year's competition and will be favourites to retain the cup but Emley will look to go one step further than last year, but the Barnsley youngsters will want to get to a semi final in their first year competing in the cup.
Barnsley have seen off Athersley Rec, on penalties and then thumped Emley's neighbours Shelley in the previous round, Emley have beaten Dinnington Town, Wombwell Main and AFC Bentley to reach this stage.
Last time out:
Emley 1-1 Bishop Auckland (Parkin), Att- 451, NPL D1 E
Crewe Alexandra U21 2-2 Barnsley U21, PDL2.
