Emley head to Gateshead on Saturday (3pm) to face Dunston in a crucial game which could affect the play off places.
With Dunston 5th and Emley 2nd these sides occupy the last and first play off places respectively, Emley will want to put Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at North Ferriby behind them and secure 3 points to put further daylight between us and the chasing pack.
Dunston are one of 5 teams separated by just 5 points challenging for the other 3 play off spots and they will look to maintain their position inside the top 5 as they look for a promotion push themselves.
Dunston UTS, founded in 1975 as Whickham Sports and previously known as Dunston Federation Brewery due to sponsorships, won promotion to the NPL after winning the Northern League in 2019 having previously competed in the Northern Amateur, Northern Combination and Wearside leagues.
Like many former Northern League clubs they were FA Vase winners in 2011-12 defeating yet another Northern League side, West Auckland Town in the final at Wembley, they also reached the FA Cup 4th qualifying round on 2 occasions, 2004 and 2019 and also the 3rd qualifying round of the trophy on 2 occasions and are nicknamed "The Fed".
This will be the third meeting this season, a 2-2 draw in the league and a 2-0 Emley win in the FA Trophy, both games were played at Emley and only the 5th meeting in all, Emley have won 2 of the previous four, with one win for Dunston and a draw.
Our fantastic away record was dented on Tuesday night at North Ferriby, the 1-0 defeat ended our 10 match unbeaten run but it was also only the fourth goal we'd conceded on the road in the league and only the second defeat on the road in the league.
Dunston have a decent home record though and have only lost once in their previous nine home games, so another tough ask for Richard Tracey's men.
