Here's Joint Manager Mark Wilson's thoughts on the start to the NWCFL campaign.

I’d personally like to thank the loyal fans who have supported us home and away - especially away - they’ve been like a twelfth man to the team.
- Mark Wilson, Joint Manager

I’d like to thank the club and everyone associated with Emley for making the start of our reign a breath of fresh air.

Everyone is on board with our ambition to move the club on and get back to where it was when me and Nico were players.

It’s a new season and all the existing players were given an opportunity to do pre-season some took us on with the offer and some decided to go elsewhere. We accepted their decision and wish them all the best - the door is always open.

Pre-season went really well great numbers to each training session and a high calibre of player. The pleasing thing was they wanted to play under us and for Emley.

Our results in the pre-season against higher opposition was just a platform to go into this season’s campaign.

Unfortunately the first game didn’t go to plan but in one way it gave us an idea on what the league is about and the opposition.

From then we have gained momentum with the lads getting to play with one another and learn how we want to play.

Saturday at Garstang was a disappointing performance we have to adapt to playing the so called lesser teams, instead of going out with the wrong attitude. Some stern, honest words were said at half time and we went out with a better attitude and got the goals. The result is the main thing, but we need an improved performance on Monday, the lads must learn that you have to earn the points and not just turn up and they're yours

Lastly I’d personally like to thank the loyal fans who have supported us home and away - especially away - they’ve been like a twelfth man to the team.

Things with Rich and Nico are going well - a good combination. Roll on the next game.

Cheers
Willy
