Emley AFC is delighted to welcome Super Eagles Futsal as the latest club to join our growing network of community partners – and our first ever partnership with a futsal club.
Super Eagles Futsal currently has around 180 registered players aged from five to 16, alongside a men’s team competing in the Northern Futsal League.
The club was originally established by Philip Zulu in 2014 as a talent development programme, with its UK operation subsequently growing from just a handful of players into a thriving set-up across the Bradford, Halifax, Batley and Huddersfield areas.
Its junior futsal programme now runs teams across a range of age groups, while Super Eagles has also expanded into grassroots football, with twelve teams competing in the Huddersfield & District League.
The new partnership opens up opportunities for the two clubs to work together, while introducing more young players and their families to matchdays at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground.
As part of Emley AFC’s partnership with Holdson, every registered junior player at Super Eagles will be offered a free Emley AFC season ticket, giving them the chance to watch the Pewits throughout the season.
Super Eagles teams will also have opportunities to enjoy VIP matchdays at Emley, giving young players a taste of the matchday experience at Northern Premier League level.
Emley AFC’s Rob Lewis said:
“We’re really pleased to welcome Super Eagles into our club partnership programme. It’s our first partnership with a futsal club, which brings something new to what we’re building and hopefully gives us plenty of opportunities to learn from each other.
“Super Eagles are working with around 180 young players and have built a really impressive set-up across futsal and grassroots football.
“A big part of these partnerships is about getting youngsters involved with Emley and making the club feel accessible to them and their families. The free season tickets through our partnership with Holdson are a big part of that, alongside the chance for Super Eagles teams to come along and enjoy VIP days with us.
“We’re looking forward to getting started and seeing where the partnership can take us.”
Nicky Kaye from Super Eagles Futsal said:
“We’re delighted to partner with Emley AFC. As a club we’re passionate about giving young players opportunities to develop, enjoy their football and experience different sides of the game.
“Having a relationship with a club playing at Emley’s level is a really positive step for us. The chance for our junior players to attend games with their free season tickets and for teams to experience VIP matchdays will be brilliant for the children and their families.
“We’re looking forward to working with Rob and everyone at Emley and building a partnership that benefits both clubs.”
The partnership continues Emley AFC’s commitment to building stronger links with junior and community clubs across the local area, while the addition of Super Eagles extends that network into futsal for the first time.
The club partnership programme is designed to create practical links between clubs, share opportunities and encourage more young players and families to get involved with Emley AFC.
