Emley AFC’s partnership programme expands further as Kexborough Chiefs Junior Football Club becomes the latest community club to align with the Pewits.
Established as a vibrant grassroots club based in Barnsley, Kexborough Chiefs JFC supports teams from Under‑7s through to Open Age, playing their matches at Darton Academy. The club is committed to nurturing young talent and fostering spirited competition across age groups.
Club Partner Manager, Rob Lewis, said: “Emley AFC are delighted to cement a partnership with Kexborough Chiefs. Their dedication to grassroots football and commitment to developing talent at every level mirror our club’s own ethos. We anticipate working together through initiatives that support youth development, pathways into senior football, and strengthening ties across our local communities.”
From Kexborough Chiefs’ side, Mark Corrall-Jackson added: “Joining forces with Emley AFC represents a tremendous opportunity for our members. This partnership bridges youth beginnings with senior aspirations. With this link, we’ll enhance our developmental player pathway, increase local engagement, and offer experiences like match day mascots and cross‑club exposure.”
Looking ahead, both clubs plan to collaborate on:
• Youth development pathways, helping talented players progress from Kexborough Chiefs into Emley's player pathway in partnership with Yorkshire RTC (Under 18s and Under 23s) through to First Team.
• Club experiences, including mascot days on Emley home match days to inspire players.
• Community outreach initiatives, amplifying both clubs’ efforts across social media and local engagement.
Emley AFC’s growing list of partner clubs now includes: Yorkshire RTC, Thornes Juniors, Shepley FC, Altofts AFC, Skelmanthorpe FC, Skelmanthorpe Juniors, Newsome FC, West Bretton, Wooldale Wanderers, Dewsbury Moor, Sitlington Juniors and now, Kexborough Chiefs JFC.
These partnerships enable mutual support and resource sharing, fostering opportunities to meet each club’s objectives and deliver greater value to players and communities alike.
