Huddersfield Town Women relocate home fixtures to spend remainder of 2026/27 campaign at Emley AFC

Emley AFC and Huddersfield Town Women are delighted to announce a new partnership that will see the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground become the first-team home and matchday base for Huddersfield Town Women.

The partnership starts immediately and represents an exciting new chapter for both clubs, bringing together two organisations with strong roots in the local community and a shared ambition to support the continued growth of football across the region.

Rather than simply being a ground-sharing or venue-hire arrangement, the partnership will see Emley AFC and Huddersfield Town Women work closely together, creating a recognisable home for the Terriers’ women’s first team.

Most Huddersfield Town Women home fixtures are expected to be played on Sundays at Emley, giving supporters a consistent matchday destination while introducing new audiences to Emley AFC and the facilities at the ground.

The agreement also provides a strong endorsement of the significant work undertaken by Emley AFC in recent years to improve and develop the standard of facilities available.

The partnership presents an opportunity to welcome new supporters to the club, raise the profile of the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground and strengthen links between the two clubs and their respective communities.

For Huddersfield Town Women, it provides a dedicated and recognisable home from which to build its matchday experience, strengthen its relationship with supporters and continue the development of the women’s game in Huddersfield and the wider region.

A key element of the partnership will be a joint commitment to exploring opportunities to improve facilities for women’s football. Emley AFC and Huddersfield Town Women will work together to identify potential funding opportunities through organisations including the Football Foundation and The FA.

Any successful funding applications and resulting improvements would not only benefit Huddersfield Town Women but also leave a lasting legacy for Emley AFC and future generations of players and supporters using the Fantastic Welfare Ground.

Emley AFC Chairman Marcus Pound said: “This is about much more than providing a pitch and changing rooms. We see this as a genuine partnership between two clubs who have a shared interest in developing football and supporting our local communities.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard to improve the standard of facilities here, so it is a real endorsement to have Huddersfield Town Women choose Emley as their first-team home.

“We’re particularly excited about the opportunities this creates to bring new people through the gates at Emley, introduce them to our club and build stronger links between our two communities.

“Most importantly, we want this partnership to help play a part in growing women’s football. If we can work together to attract funding and improve the facilities further, the benefits will go well beyond matchday and create a lasting legacy for both clubs.”

Huddersfield Town Women Chairman Andy Brown said: “We are delighted to establish the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground as the home of our first team.

“Having a consistent home and matchday base is an important step for Huddersfield Town Women and gives us the opportunity to create a stronger identity and Fan experience around our home fixtures.

“This is very much a partnership with Emley AFC rather than simply a venue arrangement. We share a commitment to developing football within our communities and, importantly, to supporting the continued growth of the women’s game.

“We look forward to working closely with Emley, both on matchdays and on opportunities to improve facilities and create a legacy for women’s football in the area.”

The partnership will also provide opportunities for the clubs to explore wider areas of collaboration throughout the three-year period, strengthening relationships between players, supporters, volunteers and the communities they represent.

With Huddersfield Town Women’s first team now having a new home at the Fantastic media Welfare Ground, both clubs are looking forward to the partnership becoming an important part of the continued development of football in the region.

The partnership begins immediately, with Huddersfield Town Women’s home fixtures expected to be played predominantly on Sundays at the Fantastic media Welfare Ground.
