Emley AFC Restructure Board to Prepare for Next Chapter

Emley AFC can today confirm a reorganisation of the club’s board structure to ensure long-term progress both on and off the pitch. As part of this, Chairman Andrew Painten will step down from his role and continue as Club President.

Current Vice-Chairman Marcus Pound will move into the role of Chairman, with existing board member John Pickup stepping up as Vice-Chairman. This refreshed leadership team provides both continuity and new focus as the club looks ahead.

Speaking about his decision, Andrew Painten said:

“It has been an honour to serve as Chairman of this fantastic football club. Since 2012, I’ve been involved at Emley in numerous roles, and becoming Chairman was a real privilege. I remain fully committed to the club and look forward to continuing my involvement as President, working alongside Honorary President Andy Hobson to run and grow the recently relaunched President's Club and further strengthen our sponsorship base, which is vital for the club’s future.”

Incoming Chairman Marcus Pound commented:

“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Andrew for his tireless commitment and leadership. Over the last five years, we have worked side by side, we’ve achieved two promotions, lifted the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup, and have welcomed record attendances at Fantastic Media Welfare Ground.

I’m excited to take on the role of Chairman and, with John as Vice-Chairman, continue to drive the club forward with the support of our volunteers, sponsors, and loyal supporters.”
