Emley look to continue their recent good form on Tuesday when they make the short trip to Barnsley to face Athersley Rec.(7.45pm)
Saturday’s thumping 5-1 win at Knaresborough Town was Emley’s 5th win the last 6 games, a run that has seen them pull clear of any possible relegation fight and are now looking to move further up the NCEL premier division table.

With just over a month left of the season, Richard Tracey’s side will be looking to finish the season strongly and make a late push to finish in the top half.

Athersley are currently bottom of the table and cut adrift but will still be hoping to pick up a few more points before the seasons end.

The home game for Emley was one of their most frustrating of the season, despite dominating the game and creating many chances, and stubborn defence from Athersley, they couldn’t find the net and the game finished 0-0.

This will be Emley’s first visit to Athersley and it is only the 3rd time the sides have met competitively, before December’s goalless draw in Emley the only previous tie was an FA Cup game, also at Emley in 2016 which The Pewits won 2-1.

Athersley’s form is woeful, they have only won twice all season, 16 games since their last win, since that 0-0 draw at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, they have lost all 6 and conceded 26, including an 8-0 trouncing at home to Grimsby Borough on Saturday.

Follow to second roundabout and turn right onto Ollerton Road. Follow to second turn on left - do not take it but go past and entrance is between houses 123-125 Ollerton Road. Follow drive into ground.
