After it was a different story and Darren Hepworth’s side will be disappointed, in his absence on business, not to have taken all three points and a first win since early November.
The hosts had the best of the opening exchanges and took the lead on 5 minutes through Andrew Broadbent - via a deflection off Sam Jerome.
This galvanised the visitors and Emley played with great heart for the next 80 minutes.
As the first-half was heading to a close, the ground awaited a seemingly inevitable whistle for a push on Sylbert Stewart in the box. All appeals were waved away by referee Ian Thornton, much to the chagrin of the Emley players, bench and supporters.
Emley got the break they deserved on 53 minutes. It is a familiar sight this season to see Paul Sykes score from 12 yards, but this wasn’t a penalty but a shot drilled into the top corner after dogged persistence from Steven Kenworthy.
Push as they might for all three points, the clear cut chance never came and Emley went home with a point.
