The only goal of the game came from a Hemsworth corner just before half-time. The delivery from Dawson was headed back across the goal where Renshaw made no mistake on the volley from 6 yards out.
Hemsworth deserved the lead at the break with Danny Armitage in the Emley goal required to keep his team in it.
At the other end Hemsworth goalkeeper May was in inspired form for the hosts and looked unlikely to be beaten, despite the best efforts from Alex Hallam and Liam Schofield in particular.
Emley started the second-half much brighter and drew confidence in good deliveries from Schofield that looked likely to deliver an equaliser eventually.
In the end, the leveller never came. The clearest chance fell to substitute Steven Kenworthy with just 7 minutes remaining. Hallam strode down the left hand side with purpose and delivered an accurate cross for Kenworthy who could only put his head in his hands when his shot missed the target and, with it, Emley’s hopes of heading home with a point.
