Worsbrough Bridge 2-2 AFC Emley

AFC Emley came away from Park Road with a decent point, after a 2-2 draw with Worsbrough Bridge, but they will be feeling disappointed that they couldn't take all 3 after an unbelievable opening to the game in which they found themselves 2-0 up with only 2 minutes gone!
Emley looked to start well and on the front foot and show their intentions and to get a feel of the ball, but probably couldn't believe it themselves when a good start turned into an unbelievable start, right from the off, a good passing move from the back found Shane Hamilton, who finished off the move neatly, to put the visitors 1-0 up with barely a minute gone.
Emley's good start had left the hosts at sixes and sevens and wondering what had hit them, but it got even better for Emley, just a minute or so later, when another good passing move again came to Hamilton who buried a second with only 2 minutes on the clock.
Worsbrough were shell shocked, as were most of the crowd whoever they supported, Emley looked to go and get a 3rd and possibly put clear daylight between the teams, but the hosts slowly started to get a foothold into the game.
Emley ended the half on the back foot somewhat, Adam Ledger was relieved to see the ball clear the bar after the original shot hit his crossbar with 10 minutes to half time as Worsbrough looked for a way back into the game.
Eventually, they found it, albeit an unfortunate goal from Danny Stocker, the ball looked to be heading in, but a header from Stocker made sure, it was bad luck on Emley who looked to go into half time without conceding.
H/T; 1-2

The second half was fairly cagey, understandable as Emley were pegged back in their own half, while Worsbrough would be buoyed by that goal just before half time, and it was the home team who started the brightest here, although not creating many chances and Emley's defence snuffing out any danger.
The post was came to Emley's rescue as the Barnsley based side turned up the pressure, but again, Emley held firm.
But eventually, the home side did get a chance to level,as James Stafford was adjudged to have committed a foul inside the area and a penalty was awarded, Ledger dived to his left but Lee Morris' penalty went straight down the middle to level up at 2-2.
The game became a bit of a stalemate with both teams searching for a winner, but the search proved fruitless in the end and a point each was well deserved.
Emley will feel that the 2 early goals didn't do them many favours as it gave the home side plenty of time to get back into the game, which, ultimately they did, but also they will feel that the great early start could have been enough to see them through, but it's a decent point, going into the league cup clash at Campion on Wednesday.
