3-2 Defeat for the Pewits.

AFC Emley went down 3-2 in a close fought and ultimately entertaining game at Glasshoughton with 4 goals in a crazy 6 minutes spell effectively deciding the points.
At a wet and soggy TJ's travel arena, it was the home side who got off to the better start, a snap shot was blocked by Danny Stocker, not the first time this afternoon, and soon after an audacious lob sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.
Emley then came to life around 12 minutes in, a great run and cross from Michael Starkey saw Stocker's shot saved by the keeper, a couple of minutes later and Curtis Roberts was the next Emley player to be thwarted , a well worked free kick down the right found Roberts, whose shot was saved and went out for a corner which was cleared.
The game entered into a bit of a stalemate for the next 15-20 minutes, before a couple of home attacks were dealt with by the Emley defence, Adam Ledger was called into action to make a fine save from a good Glasshoughton break downfield, and a speculative cross shot was put out for a corner.
That proved to be the last action of note in the first half
H/T 0-0
The second half started fairly cautiously, the rain still tumbling, with Ledger having to deal with some vociferous youths behind his goal, but it was Emley who started the brighter, Ben Burnett rasping a shot wide as Emley looked to take the game to Glasshoughton.
But then the home side hit a purple patch, Stocker was brave in heading out a cracking whipped cross off the toe of the Glassy attacker, but could only look on as the home side took the lead, a neat ball split broke the offside trap and the ball was rolled into the net by Pickering for 1-0 lead.
That became 2-0 just 2 minutes later when, after losing the ball in midfield, another good ball split the defence and Knight found himself one on one with Ledger, and he slotted home much to the Emley keepers anguish.
Emley then hit back straight away, when a free kick was awarded for a crude foul on Roberts just outside the box and Michael Tunnacliffe smashed a cracking free kick into the bottom corner, Emley were up and running... or so it seemed.
Just a minute later and another break from Glasshoughton, saw Ledger watching a shot going wide, until it took a massive and cruel deflection off Wayne Hughes, very unlucky goal for the Pewits to concede.
4 goals in 6 minutes, great stuff for a neutral no doubt!
But they weren't going to let it go without a fight, another Tunnacliffe free kick was turned round the corner by the keeper, Emley piled on the pressure now as the rain eased, a great Burnett break led to Jordan Townend having a shot saved, before Emley got another goal back, Danny Stocker smashing a wonderful penalty right down the middle to leave the keeper with no chance!
Chances then remained few and far between, a midfield battle ensued, a Glasshoughton shout for a penalty against Ledger was waved away, and then a few minutes later, more appeals for a penalty led to the Glasshoughton player getting a yellow card for simulation.
Emley then created a great chance to level the game as the 90th minute approached, but Townend couldn't keep his shot down and it sailed over the bar.
