AFC Emley moved up a place in NCEL 1 after a nervy 4-3 victory over a well-organised Winterton Rangers.
The visitors' thought they had taken an early lead when the ball hit the cross-bar and down behind a stranded Graham McLachlan, only for neither referee or assistant to give a goal.
It was a double-whammy as Emley quickly gained composure and had Matthew Jackson to thank for the opener. The forward got the final touch following a scramble in the box to put away from a corner.
Within the blink of an eye it was two as Ashley Flynn completed a well-worked team goal with an excellent finish.
Matthew Crane pegged one back when he was left unattended at a corner but Flynn restored the two-goal cushion with a simple touch in from an Aaron Joseph cross.
Second-half substitute Alex Slack seemingly put Emley out of sight with a well hit volley at the second attempt, but the set-back seemed to spur on Winterton who brought themselves back into contention with two goals in as many minutes through Jamie Richardson and a second for Crane.
A nail-biting finish ensued but AFC Emley held on to take the win.
