Kieran Ryan scored a brace as AFC Emley bounced back with an emphatic win over Worsbrough Bridge.

Sam Jerome and Ashley Flynn also got on the scoresheet in a game that was one way traffic from the first minute.
Emley’s opening goal came mid-way through the second half when Michael Tunnacliffe’s corner was turned in by Tom Brennan.
Emley should have been 2-up prior to that though. Ashley Flynn missed two glorious opportunities in the opening ten minutes, first heading over from point blank range and then scooping the ball over from six yards out.
He didn’t let that knock his confidence and continued to get into goal scoring positions. He got his reward on 39th minute when he tapped in Ryan’s low cross at the keepers near post to give Emley breathing space going into the interval.
The second period was as one sided as the first as Worsbrough offered very little in the game. Ryan once again teed Flynn but his low shot was smartly saved by the keeper who minutes later made an equally good save from Ryan.
Emley were the only team who looked like scoring the next goal but Worsbrough’s best and only chance of the second half came on the 67th minute Jack Portman’s header from six yards out forced Adam Lawlor into a world class save.
Emley saw that as a wake-up call and went in search of a third goal to put the game to bed. Flynn drove a beautiful ball low across goal where Jordan Coduri looked to be well placed to tap the ball into the net with the goal gaping, but to every ones disbelief, he blazed it over the bar as the pace of Flynn’s cross appeared to catch him off guard.
Though it was soon forgotten as Emley finally got the third goal they deserved when Jerome bundled the ball in from a corner with eight minutes to go.
Three minutes later, Ryan skipped past three Worsbrough defenders and slotted the ball into the bottom right hand corner to score the goal of the match. He got his second and Emley’s fifth two minutes later when he got on the end of Danny Ryan’s long ball over the top, went round the keeper and tapped the ball into the Empty net to secure Emley’s second 5-0 win in three games.
The clean sheet will please Darren Hepworth as much as the goals and he’ll be hoping for more of the same against Winterton Rangers.
