Emley look for derby day win!

AFC Emley, make the short trip across Wakefield on Friday night when they take on high flying Nostell MW(7.45 pm)
The reverse fixture was played at Emley, only 2 weeks ago, also on a Friday night, where the visitors built up a 3-0 lead, only for Emley to fight back to make it 3-2, in front of an impressive crowd of 223, that win maintained Nostell's position as a serious promotion and title chasers, they have only lost twice in their last 12 games and sit 3rd, 4 points behind leaders Grimsby Borough and Campion.
After a great start to the season, which they were the early pacesetters, a lot of people expected 'the welfare' to slip away but they have confounded the critics and now have to be taken seriously.
Emley, meanwhile will feel confident that they can gain revenge for that defeat a fortnight ago, after a battling 3-2 win against Harworth Colliery at the weekend, and the confidence of coming from 3-0 down to get 2 late goals.
The Pewits have a fairly decent record against the top sides,and currently sit 12th, but still far from safe, although Saturday's win against second bottom Harworth extended the gap to 12 points, Emley Head coach Darren Hepworth says the team are now looking up not down after a terrible run of form through the midwinter which saw them pick up just 5 points from a possible 27.
But Nostell will be tough opponents on their home patch, Emley will be hoping their good away support will help them to another win on the road.
If you want to follow the Pewits and be part of the away crowd, the address is;
The Welfare Ground, Crofton Community Centre, Middle Lane, New Crofton, Wakefield, WF4 1LB
Admission is £5 adults, £2.50 concessions, Children FREE with a paying adult.
